Jameh Mosque ~

مسجد جامع

“Raise your words, not voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.”
― Rumi
The city of Isfahan was one of my dreams to visit. I was amazed by its beauty and rich architecture, this is unique place in the world.
The wonderful Jameh mosque in Isfahan is part of the UNESCO world heritage. Anyone would lost his speech in front of the magnificent view of the mosque complex with the closed garden and fountains. Just the visitor can feel the amazement of being so little in front of a enormously grand architectural ensemble, full of Islamic art.
No matter how many photos I took, they were not enough to give the exact impression and feeling.
I went to city of Isfahan in winter (January) and in summer (August), and both times I was enchanted by the wonderful view of the complex, and its splendor and rich art. As the travel can be exhausting, I really wish one day to go there on my own, to stay for longer time in Isfahan, and enjoy the special moments in this place. It requires more concentration to see and feel, as if you are trapped in the history of time. This is an amazing feeling, to be so little in front of the enormous architectural and art monument, to feel like so many generations and cultures and people enjoyed the same view, preserved for the time ahead...That what reminds me of the word "eternity" and also "value". I think everyone should see that at least once in his life, feel the atmosphere there, the open garden, the amazing bazar. Then surely he would need to come back again, and again!

Chehelsotoon museum ~

موزه چهل ستون

After the rest, we went to one of most beautiful places, “The Chehelsotoon museum”. In this place it was hardly a sign for the previous snow, the weather was nice, warm and sunny.
The name “Chehelsotoon” is Persian and means “Forty columns”. It was given because of the twenty wooden columns, supporting the main pavilion, which reflection in the waters of the pool make them forty.
The palace was build by Shah Abbas II, and completed in 1646. Ali Qapu palace, situated in its territory contains many frescoes, pictures and ceramic panels with historical scenes.
The whole place has the magical spirit of the ancient times and the splendor of the Persian culture. The huge garden and the pool is impressive, as well as the famous golden honeycomb shaped facade.
